History

Date of Birth: February 20th, 1973
Home: Wicker Park, Chicago, Illinois, United States
Family: Ulysses and Mandy Goodman (parents), Josephine (younger sister), Jillian (younger sister)
The Discovery: External Supernatural Trigger (stumbled across a genuine spellbook in occult shop while nerdy teen; spellbook had an arcane notification trigger that drew his future mentor), 1990
Mentor: Adam "Ox" Oxley
The Test: Trial by Knowledge ("Ox" groomed and prepared him to become the talented arcanist he would become through an arduous and unforgiving mystical education that overlapped and replaced normal schooling, complete with tests that could kill if failed)
Comrades: Brogan Sellers, Damionn Cooke, Kingsley Chambers, Zaden Levine
Key Event #1: Awe & Wonder (as part of his extended training, Ox brought Ellis over to Europe to gallivant around the continent, learning and practicing mystical secrets and spells)
Key Event #2: War (Ox formed he and his cabalmates into a potent arcane fighting force to help defend his goals abroad, and together the sorcerers battled the Technocracy in Paris and later back in New York to protect magical sanctuaries and artifacts)
Key Event #3: Treachery (made a living as a long-term con artist for a few years in Chicago, channeling his magical skills into these fraudulent ends)
Transition: Victory (Ox's interests defended in Europe, the cabal was dispersed across the New World with the Scepters of the King and a scheme to form a mystical juncture that could reshape the world, and Ellis was directed to handle the Midwest, moving to Kansas City after nearly being caught in a con, while Ox remained in Europe)

Paradigm/Style

Overview: Cosmopolitan (an emphasis on Old World magical traditions, especially folk magic and vision-inducing herbs, combines with a pragmatic American pseudo-scientific approach that employs psychological and somatic subterfuge)

Magical Artifacts

Scepter of the Eastern King
Appearance: An electrum rod engraved with arcane sigils, capped with a opaque crystal of milky quartz with carnelian veins
Origin: Gift
Effects: Create an emotional impulse or evoke mental dominance
Activation: The rod must be waved over the target or targets while the command word in Latin is uttered

Significant Others

His reign as the Dionysian Dancer of the East also grants him influence over many Awakened beings, particularly the mages he runs across, in the New York City area.

His Continuum

Weakness
Eastern Pentacle

His role in the Dionysian Dancers is both his strength and weakness, for the cabal ultimately serves a dark purpose (though not Infernal) of Ellis and his associates' shared mentor, Adam "Ox" Oxley, one of the most powerful and mysterious hedge mages to have ever lived.

Likelihood of Corruption

Low.

He may not be a full mage, but his sorcery is impressive, as is his knowledge of the Hidden World. He knows better than to meddle with demons, preferring instead to meddle with regular people's minds.
